Description

This 1974 Toyota Celica was purchased by the seller in 2012 and subsequently modified with a repaint in blue as well as the installation of a Toyota Altezza-sourced BEAMS 3S-GE 2.0L inline-four linked to a six-speed manual transmission and an AE86-sourced rear end. The interior features BRAUM Racing seats, a MOMO Prototipo steering wheel, an NRG quick-release collar, an SQ Engineering shifter relocation kit, a Switch Pros control panel, and red Corbeau harnesses. The engine runs on a Link G2 standalone ECU, and additional modifications include an A’PEXi intake and muffler, a Koyorad aluminum radiator, an electric SPAL fan, Techno Toy Tuning suspension components, Wilwood front brakes, and 15″ XXR wheels. This RA21 Celica is now offered with a tool kit, build records, refurbishment photos, spare parts, and a California title in the seller’s name.
The car was stripped, body and rust repairs were performed, and a repaint in Voodoo Blue was completed by Bell’s AutoSport in Huntington Beach, California, as part of the mid-2010s refurbishment. Equipment includes a front lip spoiler, carbon-fiber AP Racing mirrors, fixed Lexan windows, and LED headlights and taillights. The seller reports a crack in the driver-side lower corner of the windshield, loose window trim, disconnected windshield wipers, and dents and scratches in the paint.
Gray-finished 15″ XXR wheels wear polished lips and are mounted with 205/50 Nitto NT05 tires. The suspension system features adjustable components from Techno Toy Tuning including a four-link rear suspension setup with a Panhard bar. A front big brake kit is installed and features two-piece rotors paired with four-piston Wilwood calipers. The seller notes that the steering box was rebuilt, but recommends servicing the steering system as increased steering effort is required at low speeds.
Twin BRAUM Racing seats with black leather outers and blue denim center sections are joined by black powder-coated aluminum interior panels and tan patterned fabric on the dashboard, center console, and door panels. The rear bench seat bottom was recovered in black vinyl, and other interior equipment includes an SQ Engineering shifter relocation kit, a Switch Pros control panel, and red Corbeau harnesses. The car is not equipped with a horn.
The MOMO Prototipo steering wheel wears a Celica badge and is mounted using an NRG quick-release collar. A Haltech digital dash unit is installed, and the fuel-level gauge has been relocated to the floor just ahead of the shifter. The seller notes that the speedometer is not calibrated correctly and that the in-dash oil pressure gauge is not working. The digital odometer shows just over 1k miles, and true mileage is unknown.
Dynamat insulation is installed beneath the carpets, and an Optima Red Top Battery is mounted in the trunk.
The “black-top” Toyota BEAMS 3S-GE 2.0L inline-four was sourced from a Japanese-market Toyota Altezza and is equipped with dual VVT-i and titanium valves. The engine installation was performed by Project Import in Orange, California, in 2013, and additional components include a Link G2 standalone ECU, an A’PEXi intake, a Koyorad aluminum radiator, and an electric SPAL puller fan. An oil change was performed approximately 400 miles ago.
Power is routed to the rear wheels via an Altezza-sourced six-speed manual transmission and an AE86-sourced rear end. The rear end was reportedly rebuilt, and the fuel tank was cleaned and re-sealed. The exhaust system includes a modified header with 2″ piping and an A’PEXi muffler. The clutch pedal linkage is said to squeak, vibration is noted by the seller, and the engine does not have an idle air controller.
Photos provided in the gallery document the refurbishment process. A collection of spare parts including rear quarter window glass and windshield wipers are included in the sale, while the seller notes that the vanity license plate shown in the photos is not included. The chassis plate lists the serial number “RA21-144297” while the title lists the VIN as “RA210144297.”
